About Me

Name: Miriam Carey

Hi! I am Miriam and this is my funky world.

My journey as an artist began late in life with one paint brush and one canvas and a transformation that changed my entire future. In that one painting, I learned that I am an artist. The transformation that took place on that canvas inspired a passion I never knew existed and filled every fiber of my being. That one painting led to the birth of My Funky Folk Art. In the years that followed, God has strategically guided my journey and placed people and resources in my life that have challenged me to develop the skill I never knew existed. My hope is that my art makes you smile and fills your heart with the same joy and wonder it has filled mine with. Welcome to My Funky Folk Art in my funky world.

My Life as a Photographer

I have always been comfortable behind a camera. I remember as a teenager exploring with my little 110 camera and snapping pictures of things that inspired me and being amazed at the outcome. I was often complimented on my photographs and told I have the “eye”. My passion has always been behind the camera. I have always been good at it. Over the years, my camera has evolved and I have had opportunity to take my photo’s and turn them into pieces of art. My skills behind the camera include not only photo art but also family and individual photo’s. Let me have the opportunity to demonstrate my talents to you.
